This Toonami Trending Rundown is a triple-feature for the nights of January 13-14, 20-21, and 27-28, 2024. With the conclusion of Attack on Titan, Toonami kicked off its regular schedule for 2024, as it featured the start of Demon Slayer’s Entertainment District arc and the debut of Lycoris Recoil to the lineup.
The night of January 13 featured an hour-long season premiere of Demon Slayer to kick off the Entertainment District arc. In terms of trending for the night, #Toonami trended in the USA on Twitter and on Tumblr alongside Demon Slayer and Dr. Stone.
The night of January 20 saw the premiere of Lycoris Recoil to U.S. television. The show would trend on Twitter alongside #Toonami, Demon Slayer, and Dr. Stone. Said shows would also respectively trend on the night of January 27.
This week’s feature was a game review of Jusant, a puzzle platformer by French developers Don’t Nod. It received an 8.5 out of 10 score.
Big news regarding Toonami’s next original production, Ninja Kamui, a new original IP directed by Sunghoo Park of Jujutsu Kaisen fame. On January 17, Adult Swim revealed that the show will be making its world premiere on Toonami on Saturday, February 10 at midnight.
On January 19, Toonami revealed the schedule for the February 10 edition of Toonami. Alongside Demon Slayer now airing at 12:30 a.m. EST to make way for Ninja Kamui at midnight, Toonami will be airing the Japanese (with English subtitles) version to finish off the block at 3:00 a.m. Good news for those who want to see the subbed version of the show, as it will be a first for Toonami to be airing subbed anime on a regular basis. Of course, if that’s too late for you, the show is available to stream (both subbed and dubbed) on Max and adultswim.com the next day.
And just this morning, Adult Swim revealed a sneak preview of Ninja Kamui on their YouTube page. You can check it out below.
