This morning, VIZ Media and Toonami announced that Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead would be joining the lineup beginning on March 30 at 12:30 a.m. EDT.
Zom 100 is a new anime based on the manga series written by Haro Aso and illustrated by Kotaro Takata, which is presently being serialized on Shogakukan’s Monthly Sunday Gene-X magazine since 2018 with 63 chapters in over 16 volumes and counting. Both the anime and the manga are distributed in North America by VIZ Media. Zom 100 is directed by Kazuki Kawagoe and animated by Bug Films studios. The show’s first (and presently only) season ran in Japan with 12 episodes from July 9, 2023 – December 26, 2023.

Zom 100 will be replacing Demon Slayer on the lineup, which will be going on hiatus from the block after completing the Entertainment District Arc the week before on March 23. On that note, as the season finale of Demon Slayer is 45 minutes long, every show after will air 15 minutes later than usual during that night. There is no word when Toonami and Aniplex plan on airing the show’s next season, the Swordsmith Village Arc, at this time.
The show’s synopsis from Anime News Network is as follows:
Surviving a zombie apocalypse beats being a wage slave any day. After spending years slaving away for a soul-crushing company, Akira’s life has lost its luster. He lives in a trash-filled apartment, his pay is abysmal, and he can’t even muster up the nerve to confess his love to his beautiful co-worker. But when a zombie apocalypse ravages his town, it gives him the push he needs to live for himself. Now Akira’s on a mission to complete all 100 items on his bucket list before he…well, kicks the bucket.
In a rarity in the current day “streaming wars” and “streaming service bubble”, Hulu, Netflix, and Crunchyroll all got to simulcast the show stateside upon its premiere last July 9, 2023 (and simuldub a month later). However, the anime saw numerous production issues and setbacks that regularly delayed the release of episodes, most notably with the final three episodes being delayed for over three months. This may partly explain why Toonami held off on also airing the show until now.
The show’s English dub was recorded by Bang Zoom! Studios in Los Angeles, and the cast is as follows:
