Welcome back to yet another Toonami Squad Gaming Zone System Update for the week of December 6th, 2021!
Before we start on some of our news pieces, I wanted to take the time to personally apologize for canceling our streams for last week. This was partly due to our internet not working and I’ve also been sick since Monday, but I’m 100% better now so this week will pretty much be a make-up week.
Nintendo announced last week that the fan-favorite N64 title Paper Mario for NSO Plus Expansion Pack will unfold on December 10th!
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl has received a free DLC update in the form of alternate costumes on December 3rd and is available for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. The costumes will launch on the Switch sometime in December. Additionally, we will be getting a new character announcement on December 7th through IGN. There has still been no word on a voice pack addition for all fighters.
According to a report this week from Bloomberg, Sony is working on their own “Game Pass”-like service codenamed “Spartacus”. This will apparently be a three-tier service, with one of them allowing access to a library of classic PS1, PS2, PS3, and even PSP games. Here are some additional details on Project Spartacus: Available on PS4/5, expected to launch this Spring, Will merge PS+ and Now under one banner, Tier 1: PS+ benefits, Tier 2: Access to PS4 and select PS5 games, and Tier 3: Access to classic library Sony is also investing more heavily into cloud gaming infrastructure, which likely ties into plans for Spartacus. As always we’ll keep up to date on these news pieces.
