As the title suggests, this season will be covering the “Stone Wars” arc, or Chapters 51-82 original manga, as Senku and the Kingdom of Science go to war against Tsukasa’s Empire of Might. Dr. Stone: Stone Wars will be 11 episodes long, in contrast to the 24 episode count for Season 1.
Dr. Stone will be airing at the 1:00 a.m. Eastern/Pacific slot upon its arrival, replacing Fire Force on the lineup as the latter show will be airing the season 2 finale the week prior. To make way, Food Wars! and The Promised Neverland will both be shifting down the lineup by 30 minutes. This will follow another schedule change that also occurs a week before on May 8, with My Hero Academia returning to the lineup for Season 5 and an encore run of Attack on Titan: The Final Season begins during its mid-season break.
The full schedule for Toonami come May 15 is as follows:
12:00 a.m. – Dragon Ball Super
12:30 a.m. – My Hero Academia
1:00 a.m. – Dr. Stone
1:30 a.m. – Food Wars!
2:00 a.m. – The Promised Neverland
2:30 a.m. – Black Clover
3:00 a.m. – Naruto: Shippuden
3:30 a.m. – Attack on Titan
Longer term plans for Dr. Stone are already in the works. Following the airing of the Season 2 finale in Japan, it was announced that a third season is already in production.
