Lauded as being among the best anime of 2019, the wildly popular series is based on Koyoharu Gotoge’s manga series from SHUEISHA’s Weekly Shonen Jump and brought to life thanks to animation production and screenplay by the esteemed studio ufotable, celebrated for their work on Fate/stay night [Unlimited Bladeworks], Fate/Zero, and most recently the Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] trilogy. The Japanese cast stars Natsuki Hanae (Your lie in April, Fate/Aporcypha) and Akari Kito (BLEND-S, Record of Grancrest War) as siblings Tanjiro and Nezuko Kamado, alongside Hiro Shimono (Durarara!!x2, Attack on Titan), Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Sword Art Online, Eromanga Sensei), and Takahiro Sakurai (Cells at Work!, Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia).
The English dub premiered on Adult Swim’s Toonami block in October of 2019 starring Zach Aguilar (ALDNOAH.ZERO, Fate/Apocrypha), Abby Trott (Asterisk War, Neon Genesis Evangelion), Aleks Le (Record of Grancrest War, Sword Art Online Alicization War of Underworld), Bryce Papenbrook (Sword Art Online series, Blue Exorcist, Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel]), and Johnny Yong Bosch (Fate/Zero, Blue Exorcist, Durarara!!).
The series recently revealed more information on its upcoming feature-length film, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train, which will follow Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke as they investigate the cause of the mysterious disappearances aboard a train with the help of Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku.
