Sentai Filmworks Serves Up Dubbed Home Video Release of “Food Wars! The Third Plate”
HOUSTON, TX – July 5, 2019 – Sentai Filmworks announced yesterday that it has acquired home video rights to the third season of smash hit series Food Wars!, with an English dub slated for release in early 2020. Food Wars! The Third Plate, a 25-episode installment, joins the first and second seasons to continue the culinary adventures of Soma Yukihira at the prestigious Totsuki Academy.
At the Moon Festival, Totsuki Academy’s annual gourmet jubilee, students wage fierce culinary war as they try to out-earn their peers by selling the most of their chosen cuisine. Soma Yukihira, however, has his sights set on a grander prize: challenging the Elite Ten, who rule over the academy with iron fists. But Soma might have to put his grand ambitions on hold for the time being, because an insidious scheme to upset the balance of Totsuki Academy has begun to emerge from the shadows…
Kyle Colby Jones (MADE IN ABYSS, Akame ga Kill!, No Game, No Life) returns to direct the third season. Blake Shephard (Chihayafuru, Tanaka-kun is Always Listless, From the New World) will return to voice Soma Yukihira while Stephanie Wittels (Flying Witch, My Love Story, GATE) and Jad Saxton (Log Horizon, Himouto! Umaru-chan, One Piece) will return as Erina Nakiri and Megumi Tadokoro, respectively.
Season 1 of Food Wars! is set to premiere on Adult Swim’s Toonami this Saturday July 6th, 2019 at 1am E/T.
