Back on October 2022, Toonami’s regular scheduled airing of One Piece skipped by one episode from Episode 589 to 591, as episode 590 was a crossover event between One Piece, Dragon Ball Super, and Toriko. All three shows being Shonen Jump titles animated by Toei Animation. As there was no available dub for that episode, Toonami was forced to skip it. In fact, it hasn’t been exported stateside at all, as Crunchyroll (nor Funimation before merging with the former) has never had the episode available for streaming or home video release. That is, until now.
On Friday morning, Toei Animation announced on Twitter that Episode 590 of One Piece, the “Toriko x One Piece x Dragon Ball Z Super Crossover Special,” will be making its English dub premiere on Toonami this upcoming March 4 at 1:00 a.m. EST.

Toonami concurrently released the schedule for March 4 on Facebook, which will follow a fortnight of DC movies on February 18 and 21. A doubleheader of My Hero Academia will kick off the block at midnight, prior to the crossover special at 1 a.m. Following the special, One Piece and Naruto Shippuden will air their new episodes at their regularly scheduled times at 1:30 and 2:00 a.m. respectively, followed by an encore episode of Primal to complete the night.
Dragon Ball and One Piece have been regular staples of the Toonami lineup through its 25-year history, meanwhile, this will be Toriko’s debut on the better cartoon show. Created by Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro, the Toriko manga ran on Weekly Shonen Jump from 2008-2016 with over 43 volumes in total. In 2011, an anime adaptation of Toriko was released by Toei, running for 147 episodes until 2014. Funimation began releasing dubbed episodes in 2013, however, only a portion of the series has been dubbed to this day.
One Piece‘s 590th episode was aired back-to-back with Toriko episode 99 in Japan back in April 2013, which also is a crossover episode between the three franchises. In addition, One Piece previously had crossover episodes with Toriko in episodes 492 and 542. However, Toei has not revealed if those particular episodes will also come stateside at this time.
