“There’s only one way he could have achieved this power: by compressing his own life. He was prepared to burn himself out completely and never be able to use Nen again. That was the resolve required to do this. This boy was born with an incredible gift, but even so, he didn’t hesitate. He was willing to throw that gift away. Thank goodness…I was the one to die.“
– Neferpitou, Hunter x Hunter (Ep. 131)
The Toonami Trending Rundown for February 23-24, 2019. It was a night of memorable moments as Gon enacts his revenge on Neferpitou for Kite’s passing, while Sarada tries to learn the truth of her parental upbringing, and the Joestars chase after Kira, among others.
On Twitter, #Toonami would successfully trend in the US along with #Boruto and every show from Megalo Box to Hunter x Hunter on the schedule. Character trends were also spotted for Krillin (as he teams up with Android 18 to face Majora, but gets blindsided by Frost during a celebration), Sarada (as she becomes frustrated to Sasuke’s commitments to her and Sakura and wants to know if Sasuke and Sakura are truly her biological parents), and Yoshikage Kira (as Koichi and co. manage to have him on the run despite heavy injuries, but Kira somehow manages to get away and with a new identity).
On Tumblr, #Toonami would trend along with My Hero Academia and Hunter x Hunter. The full list including statistics and tweet counts from the twitter app and Amr Rahmy’s Fanscreening analytics app can be seen below.
This week’s feature was a game review for Sundered Eldritch Edition, a metroidvania by Thunder Lotus Games and available to purchase on all major platforms. It received an 8 out of 10 score.
This week marked the end of Attack on Titan season 3 part 1’s encore run, but as Part 2 won’t be ready for another few months, Toonami will start season 1 once again from the very beginning next week in the meantime. No word what the plan is on when Season 3 returns from its hiatus as of now.
Tune in next week as My Hero Academia begins its third season, among other great moments. Until then, stay gold.
