“Hey Goku! You see that? When the tunnel opened up, the wind started pushing that volcanic gas upward. We don’t gotta fight the heavy air no more. I don’t even have the words to tell you how much you outside worlders have done for us. All I can say is thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
– King Kadan, Dragon Ball Daima (Ep. 20)
This Toonami Trending Rundown is a double-feature for November 1-2 and 8-9, 2025.
The end of Daylight Savings also saw the finale of both Dragon Ball Daima and the Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati saga, while the “bonus DST hour” following One Piece saw an encore airing of all three episodes of FLCL Shoegaze, followed by the Rick and Morty short “Rick and Morty vs Genocoder”, before Naruto completed the night.
The following week would see the continuation of Blue Exorcist for season 4, the Beyond the Snow Saga, alongside the return of Mashle: Magic and Muscle for season 2, The Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc. In addition, Bleach would also lead off the block at midnight for the first time since 2014.
For the night of November 1-2, only #Toonami and Blue Exorcist trended on Twitter while #Toonami trended on Tumblr during the night, not helped by the fact that Game 7 of the World Series was occurring at the same time. November 8-9 was a bit better, as #Toonami would trend in the USA on Twitter alongside Bleach TYBW, Blue Exorcist and Mashle.
This week’s feature was a game review of Baby Steps. It received a “step in the right direction?” out of 10.
With Akira Toriyama’s passing during the show’s production back on March 1st, 2024 at the age of 68, the conclusion of Dragon Ball Daima serves as Toriyama’s swan song and marks the end of an era for one of the most influential anime franchises of all time. While the Daima chapter is coming to a close, Toei is committed to continuing on Toriyama’s legacy, and it may not be long until we see what’s next for the Dragon Ball franchise. On January 25, 2026, there will be a Dragon Ball event in the Tokyo area, titled the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri commemorating the 40th anniversary of the franchise. There, Toei is teasing new announcements for the franchise, including a new Dragon Ball game, and two unspecified major projects.
Who knows where Toei will take the Dragon Ball franchise next and long-term, but I’m sure every Dragon Ball fan is looking forward to seeing what that will be. Until then, I’m sure I can speak for everyone in saying thanks for the memories, Dragon Ball Daima. Thank You, Akira Toriyama and may Dragon Ball and Toonami continue to inspire viewers for many years to come.

Finally, Toonami revealed on Facebook on Friday that Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War will roll right along straight to Season 3, beginning on November 29th at 12:00 a.m. So, for those who were wondering if Bleach will continue straight away following the season 2 finale on November 22, or will go on a premiere offseason/hiatus like Dan Da Dan presently is, there’s your answer. This schedule release also means that the regular Toonami schedule will not “take a week off” for a marathon night on Thanksgiving weekend, so for anyone who can’t watch Toonami on the 29th, be sure to set your DVRs.

Not much else to say other than we hope you had a Happy Halloween, congrats to the LA Dodgers on winning back-to-back World Series titles, and hope you enjoy another night of Toonami as always.
