Welcome back to yet another Toonami Squad Gaming Zone System Update for the week of February 28th, 2022!
Capcom announced a collection of fighting games called Capcom Fighting Collection! This game consist of all five Darkstalkers titles, Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix, Super Gem Fighter 2 Turbo, Red Earth, and more to be announced! The game will also include online rollback netcode. Capcom Fighting Collection will release on June 24th for PlayStation 4/5, Switch, Xbox One/Series S|X, and Steam.

For those who are wanting a Min Min Amiibo for their Smash Bros Amiibo collection, it’ll be released on April 29th. Unfortunately, due to a logistics and production delay, the Steve and Alex Minecraft Amiibo are now slated for a late 2022 release.

Sony gave us our first look at PlayStation VR 2 hardware, including the controllers. The new hardware features an inside-out tracking system, improving on the camera-based tracking of the first-gen PSVR.

The PlayStation app has been updated for the US to include PS5 game capture. This feature will be included in other countries in the following month.

To celebrate Pokémon Day, the Pokémon Company released a 14 minute Pokémon Presents video showing off small updates on games like Pokémon Go, Masters EX, Unite, and Cafe Remix. Additionally, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will receive a mystery gift item called Oak’s Letter to add the Mythical Pokémon Shaymin to your team. The even starts now until March 27th. Pokémon Legends Arceus also receive an update to add a new mission regarding a mass outbreak of Pokémon. Finally, the Pokémon Company announced a pair of brand new Pokémon games called Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet seem to take place in a land that’s inspired by Spain and we got our first look at the new starters which are called Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is slated for a late 2022 worldwide release.
Lastly, I wanted to update you on the streaming lineup. For the foreseeable future, we will be doubling up on Final Fantasy 7 Remake until we are 100% done with the game. We will not be returning to this game for the DLC, however. Once we are close to being done with the game, we’ll announce two games to join the line up. Who knows, we might make that announcement soon 😉
