Every year on the 4th of July weekend, no less than 100k anime fans will be converging onto Downtown Los Angeles as Anime Expo, the biggest anime convention in North America returns. With Anime Expo’s significance in the anime convention calendar, not surprisingly some of the biggest anime news of the year is often announced here.
Hand-picked from the official schedule and other sources, this is a curated list of the various events and panels that will be of interest of Toonami viewers, including panels of shows that have been featured on Toonami, as well as industry panels of companies that have a partnership with the block.
Do note that there is a possibility that there can be Toonami-related news in panels that aren’t listed below, but fans should be on the lookout for any possible announcements. We’ll be on the ground in Los Angeles covering the events of Anime Expo, so for potential breaking news announcements and live-tweets, be sure to follow @ToonamiSquad on Twitter, BlueSky and our other social media accounts. And for those who can’t make it this year but still want a taste of the festivities, fear not as Anime Expo will be hosting another edition of Anime Expo Lite on their Twitch and YouTube pages, which will feature live streaming of panels that take place in the Petree Hall.
This schedule list will be updated if more information becomes available and is subject to change. All listed times are in Pacific Daylight Time (PDT).

Friday, July 4th

Room: Main Events (Peacock Theater)
Official Description: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba returns to Anime Expo for an unforgettable event celebrating the music of the series performed live, along with a special appearance by Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro Kamado)!
Author Notes: After a two-year dispute of sorts between Toonami and show distributors Aniplex, Crunchyroll, and Sony, Toonami would finally get to air Demon Slayer’s Mugen Train, Entertainment District, and Swordsmith Village arcs during late 2023-2024. However, Toonami has yet to receive the green light to air the fourth season, the Hashira Training arc, at this time. Previous seasons of Demon Slayer making its way to Toonami has been announced at panels before, and if the Hashira Training arc is coming to Toonami in the near future, an announcement at AX or SDCC would not be out of the question.
Following the theatrical success of Mugen Train, Sony has opted to make the show’s final arc, the Infinty Castle arc will be a movie trilogy. With the first of these films hitting theaters in Japan on July 18, 2025, and in the United States on September 12, 2025. Unfortunately, given that the Infinty Castle arc will be a movie trilogy, it could potentially be years before the final arc will reach Toonami viewers…if the arc is turned into a television format at all.

Do note that because Bleach was in “Hulu/Disney Jail” for the past three years, Toonami is behind the simulcast by three cours. And given this panel will reveal information regarding the fourth and final cour, those who don’t want to be spoiled might want to attend at their own risk.
